The Meals on Wheels Blanket Drive exceeded its goal of 1,000 fleece blankets.  By the end of the night of December 10th, 1048 blankets were donated to our seniors, disabled, and homebound clients. THE Kitchen would like to thank the community for your generosity and for caring about our Meals on Wheels family. Distribution of the blankets took place on December 19th, just in time for Christmas.  Volunteers delivered the blankets along with meals.  Throughout the week of the blanket distribution, Meals on Wheels clients called THE Kitchen to say thank you for their warm and cozy gift.

Christmas at the Winery

Christmas at the Winery was a great success, thanks to faithful supporters of THE Kitchen and PETS Clinic who benefited from the event.  More than 300 people visited Horseshoe Bend Cellars Vineyard and Winery to enjoy the Christmas decor and tour the winery esatate.  Ten businesses in the community donated their time and talent, turning the Poenitzsch home into a holiday dream.  Special thanks to Scott and Linda Poenitzsch, who held a similar event in their home in Wisconsin and approached both THE Kitchen and PETS Clinic about being recipients of the event.  B & C Printing and Mayfield Events also served on the committee. Both businesses offered complimentary tickets, posters, brochures, decorations for the living room, and a photo booth so visitors could take a souvenir picture from the event.   Annette Ezzell Photography took beautiful photos of the home and event. The other businesses who made the Christmas wonderland so spectacular were: Bed, Bath, and Beyond, The Conatinery, Divine Design/Unique Boutique, House of Flowers, Painting Proverbs, Smith's Gardentown Farms, Southern Jeweled, Southern Savvy Creations by Tiffany, Sweet 1020, and United Supermarkets who donated delicious cheese trays to compliment the wine tasting.
